Born in Croatia, at the age of 3, my parents took me to live with my grandparents in a small town near Medjugorje. At age 6, I moved back to Croatia where I lived with my parents and went to school. At age 16 I went to live with my oldest sister in Germany. In 1981 I immigrated to the United States with a friend. While becoming American citizens, We worked in the clothing and art business.

Co-Director & Guide
In 2013, Ave Maria Pilgrimage introduced and welcomed Josip Elez as our new Co-Director and Guide of Ave Maria Pilgrimage in Medjugorje. The son of Ivanka (Ivankavic) Elez, the first Medjugorje visionary to see the Blessed Mother there in 1981. Josip is a second generation disciple and proponent of Our Lady’s messages.
